The Call of Cthulhu

Recently I have been reading a book containing a collection of short horror stories written by H. P. Lovecraft, entitled Zgroza w Dunwich i inne przerażające opowieści (the original title is The Dunwich horror and other stories). Even though I prefer reading in english or in italian to improve my skills, I admit that some book just have to be read in my own native language to get a better feel for the moment.
Most of these writings present the bone-chilling concept of beeing a heir of some disgraceful past. Main characters often try to find out more about their ancestors or even they make coming to the daily light some family mysteries that for centuries has been remaining in the dark. The point is that the idea of these secret is to  keep certain things in strict confidence for the general good, because the truth sometimes turns out to be so horrible, that the only way to prevent people from loosing their mind is to destroy everything that could be it's reminder...
As Lovecraft is the master of horror, there is no need to introduce this author to this genre fans. I would truly recommend this book to every demanding reader not only because the content is gripping but also because the language that is being used is rather challenging.
My cat approves! Apparently, Lovecraft used to be a big cat lover too! :)
