Those of you who read my first post, it will come as no surprise. I'm
kind of a renaissance soul and have lots of interests. In the post I
mentioned I wrote that I enjoy fantasy books, but the truth is I enjoy
almost everything related to this genre of popular culture, such as
films,TV series, music, painting, literature and, last but not least,
computer games. And from here comes the question: is there anything else
you can do or explore related to this stuff? The answer is:
role-playing adventure games (the tabletop ones). Well, I must admit
that I am a total nerd :).
As the name itself says, the objective
of the game is to assume the role of a fictional character created by a
player and to narrate an adventurous story in company of other players.
However, everything is subordinated to the plan and will of so-called
game master who creates the base of the story and in this way becomes an
oracle and a referee in one person. The game not only requires
knowledge of system of rules, background story, setting, etc., but also
is a great opportunity to practice acting. I thinks it's an awesome idea
for leisure time for those who enjoy spending it actively and who would
like to try something new and unconventional.

Being a creative mind
Hello there!
I would like to share with you a little "piece of art" I have recently made. Some time ago I discovered that drawing with regular ballpoint pen is quite fun and the effect is more suprising than I expected it to be (first I didn't expect it to be suprising at all). And I always prefered using acrylic paint and watercolour. I hope one day I will have enough courage to share some of my paintings and drawings; for now I'm rather insecure.
As for visual arts, it always has been my major interest since I have became able to hold a pen in my hand. I just can't imagine my life without creation; it helps me release my emotions and fulfills my creative needs. For me enjoying things made by others (such as books, films) is just not enough. Hence why I also play musical instruments...

The Call of Cthulhu
Recently I have been reading a book containing a collection of short horror stories written by H. P. Lovecraft, entitled Zgroza w Dunwich i inne przerażające opowieści (the original title is The Dunwich horror and other stories). Even though I prefer reading in english or in italian to improve my skills, I admit that some book just have to be read in my own native language to get a better feel for the moment.
Most of these writings present the bone-chilling concept of beeing a heir of some disgraceful past. Main characters often try to find out more about their ancestors or even they make coming to the daily light some family mysteries that for centuries has been remaining in the dark. The point is that the idea of these secret is to keep certain things in strict confidence for the general good, because the truth sometimes turns out to be so horrible, that the only way to prevent people from loosing their mind is to destroy everything that could be it's reminder...
As Lovecraft is the master of horror, there is no need to introduce this author to this genre fans. I would truly recommend this book to every demanding reader not only because the content is gripping but also because the language that is being used is rather challenging.
My cat approves! Apparently, Lovecraft used to be a big cat lover too! :)
